Cleaning Innovations That Make Life Easier

    RichardBy RichardSeptember 12, 2019Updated:February 15, 2022No Comments6 Mins Read

The cleaning gadgets that we have right now have made our daily routines easier, and this becomes especially true if you’re a homemaker or a caretaker of a spacious property. You’d know how cumbersome it can be to work on dusty floors, stained fabric, or smelly corners. These problems have become easier to solve with items like handheld vacuums, electric dusters, and automatic mops.

Each gadget has specific functions that speed up chores, giving you more time to focus on other tasks at hand. Some cleaning tools have even gone fully automated, which means they don’t need to be manned after being turned on. Examples include automatic vacuum cleaners like the Roomba, which can work on its own, unlike the old-school Hoover. Here are some examples of cleaning innovations that have expedited the lives of homemakers.

    Electric Dusters

Electric dusters are machines with motors inside that blow condensed amounts of air. These contraptions are small and come with a handle and are equipped with a blower that can be customized with various attachments. These dusters can be used in cleaning computer keyboards, digital cameras, gaming consoles, and other electronics in which any dust may have accumulated.

This isn’t to say you can’t use a vacuum cleaner for the said gadgets, but this is less effective than cleaning with electric blowers. Using vacuums can suck the dust from hard to reach spaces inside the gadgets, but an electric blower offers more flexibility by delivering an airstream that can be positioned at any angle. Thanks to electric dusters, owners can prevent their desktops from shutting down due to accumulated dust or debris damaging their internals.

    Cordless Vacuums

Whereas the electric dusters blow air, vacuums produce suction. Vacuums had begun with wires that you had to plug in for power, but cordless vacuums are now available and offer more portability for owners who need to move around and clean in areas that don’t have power outlets, compared to traditional vacuums. These handheld vacuums can be carried and stowed quickly if you’re moving to a new home, all while having more or less the same cleaning power as that of older cleaners.

The cordless feature of these vacuum cleaners comes in handy for households who have several children or pets running around. Without wires plugged in while you’re cleaning a room, there would be fewer chances of the inhabitants tripping on these cords. You only need to keep in mind the charging time and battery life of these cordless vacuums. A good place to start would be cordless vacuums with lithium batteries, or those labeled with long-lasting capacities.

    Air purifiers

The air purifier is another cleaning innovation worth mentioning. These machines work by filtering out air impurities and potential allergens that might affect occupants in a room. Pollen, dust, mold spores, odors, and the like would be detected and then removed. Smoke, gases, and potentially dangerous fumes can also be absorbed to further ensure your well-being at home. Air purifiers can run automatically, which might mean costly bills from energy consumption. Fortunately, there are models that are Energy Star Certified or recognized for not consuming a lot of energy.

Like many machines that rely on fan motors, air purifiers feature adjustable fan speeds. This means that they can go from low to high, depending on how quickly you need to clear the indoor air. To ensure that the noise level is kept at a minimum, some air purifiers come with a quiet operating feature. Some brands also design their air purifiers to be lightweight to make it portable or travel-friendly.

    Steam Cleaners

So far, the cleaning products discussed have been those that rely on wind power, be it suction, blowing, or filtering. Steam cleaners do the job differently by using heated air to kill germs and other impurities. They often come with attachments like nozzles or brushes, from which the heated air would be expelled onto the dirty object. For instance, steam cleaners can be effective at cleaning sofa sets, carpets, or mattresses that have been neglected with dirt, stains, or even mold growth. Thanks to the pressurized steam coming out of the machine, soiled upholstery or textiles become sanitized and ready for further washing or drying. Rachat de voiture HS, Vente voiture export, Camping car accidenté

Steam cleaners can also be used for household surfaces like kitchen countertops, bathroom tiles, or floors made of vinyl, laminate, or polyurethane wood. Still, these machines can’t be used on just about anything. Unsealed floors, painted walls, and window glass all are better off being cleaned by machines other than steam cleaners, however.

    Automatic Mops

The cleaning innovations mentioned thus far rely on air, but the next product uses mopping to clean up. Automatic mops have made chores easier for people who used to rely on old-fashioned, long-handled mops. Indeed, unlike the mops of yore, these items can do the mopping on their own. They often come with a variety of features, including being able to dry mop the floor or vacuuming them after mopping.

Some automatic mops even come with scheduling features, which lets them clean the house on a specific time of the day set by you. This innovation allows homeowners to leave for work or school while the robot mop activates and cleans the premises midday. To help them clean effectively, manufacturers install wall detection systems in these cleaning machines. This way, the auto mops won’t bump into walls which might cause some damage.

    New Ways To Clean

In summary, technology today has led to new ways to clean. Property owners no longer have to manually mop or plug vacuums to outlets, since automatic and cordless versions of these cleaning tools now exist. In recent years, we’ve seen these gadgets get introduced and used widely for their ease of use. Be it robot mops, handheld vacuums, air purifiers, or electric dusters, today’s innovations have undoubtedly made life easier, and cleaner, for all of us. Who knows? The next big thing in cleaning might be a phone-activated mop.
