I am saddened by the news and images coming from Haiti after the devastating earthquake that hit on January 12. The question on my mind and many of yours is where and how can I help? With a few quick searches on Google and Twitter, there is no shortage of options from tweeting to texting. I've compiled a short list below, and it is by no means complete. Please check back regularly as we will be adding organizations that are providing relief to Haiti. Charity Navigator, the nation's largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities, has a tip sheet for donating during times of crisis that is a great reference when making a decision to give during this tragedy.

You can also follow #haiti #haitiquake #helphaiti #haitirelief on Twitter to find out where to donate or text “haiti” to 90999 to donate $10 to Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts.

Please note: this list is incomplete, and we are regularly updating this post. If you have another resource that you would like listed, please leave a comment or email blog@convio.com and we will make updates accordingly.

Hi Jill, Our organization is providing relief to those organizations providing Haiti relief. We're offering our gift-processing software for free to organizations that are directly involved with Haiti relief. The software greatly speeds entry of constituents and gifts into the Raiser's Edge and is already in use by many large organizations throughout the US and Australia. One of them, Mercy Corps, reports that our software has automated nearly 60% of their gift data entry, saying: "Import-O-Matic has been the absolute life-saver in our gift processing for Haiti. Without IOM, we would have been 4-5 days behind in data entry. It’s been a huge deal for us!" Any interested organizations can find out more here: http://www.omaticsoftware.com/HaitiRelief.aspx Thank you, Jeffrey Montgomery O-matic Software

I would just like to draw your attention to the use of international shipping containers as housing. They are sitting around US ports unused. They can be shipped anywhere without special equipment. They can be lifted with cranes, etc. Some websites that provide further info include the "PFNC Global Communities" homepage and the "Welcome to Container City" article at WiseBread.com. The "containerbay" section at FabPrefab.com showcases a number of different possible designs as well as links to additional resources.

Hopital Albert Schweitzer Haiti (http://hashaiti.org) is 50 miles from the quake, but serves "the poorest of the poor" (which in Haiti is saying something) is in full mass casualty protocol and can use funds.
