At this year's Convio Summit we had a very special guest, Ramya Raghavan, the Manager of Nonprofits and Activism at YouTube and evangelist for the YouTube Nonprofit Program, who moderated a session on how nonprofits can effectively use YouTube and its Nonprofit Program to further their missions and implement video as a part of their overall communications strategy.

Aside from packing the house in the YouTube session with standing room only for attendees, the panelists -- Ramya Raghavan of YouTube, Kate Sands Adams from the International Rescue Committee, Carie Lewis from the Humane Society and Tim Fullerton from Oxfam America, helped build excitement at the conference around the possibilities video brings to nonprofit organizations looking to spread their message, raise funds and inspire action in a more impactful way.

The panelists sat down after the session to share their experiences and expertise around using video and the YouTube Nonprofit Program to successfully build both online and integrated campaigns. In the below video (2:13 min), the panelists talk in depth about the powerful nature of video as a storytelling medium and how nonprofits can harness this power on YouTube.

And to anyone out there who might be getting ready to launch a first-time or new video campaign, a follow-up video will be posted in the coming days on what the group shared for tips and tricks when using the YouTube nonprofit channel with some great advice and tactics that any nonprofit can implement in online video.

In the meantime, check out the amazing YouTube pages for the International Rescue Committee, Oxfam America and The Humane Society!
