According to the US Department of Labor, in 2010 "the median weekly earnings of women who were full-time wage and salary workers was $669, or 81 percent of men’s $824." However grim that may sound, another stat is encouraging: "Women are projected to account for 51.2 percent of the increase in total labor force growth between 2008 and 2018." That said, ladies, we have a lot of work ahead of us. To celebrate International Women's Day today, my colleague Sara and I would like to share our bits of wisdom to the next generation of women leaders.

If we take a moment to gaze into our crystal ball, we can get a sense of what to expect in 2012 in the nonprofit sector. I won’t spoil my video with Convio CMO Sara Spivey, but in a nutshell: There are new rules of engagement for nonprofits. From acquisition and retention to our changing economic and political landscape, the ability to engage constituents will determine the success of nonprofits. Hi! I’m Pat, the new VP of Worldwide Sales for Convio. In the short time I’ve been here I’ve learned a lot about you – the passionate people who drive the nonprofit sector. I know you are committed to your communities, resourceful in everything you do and most importantly, devoted to causes that make our world a better place. It seems a little one-sided though that I know so much about you without revealing hardly anything about myself yet. Let’s change that. I hope this video acts as a good little virtual introduction and I look forward to meeting you in person at Summit next week and through the many other opportunities we’ll have together. |
